Assassin's Creed: Awakening is a manga accommodation of the Assassinator'south Creed IV: Black Flag video game. It was serialized in the magazine Jump X, written by Takashi Yano and illustrated past Kenji Oiwa.[i] It was announced on Anime News Network on 9 July 2013,[2] later which the first chapter was released on x August 2013. Last twelfth chapter was released in Nippon on 10 July 2014.[3]

A French language version was announced on 16 Apr 2014 and Book 1 was released 12 June 2014 in French republic under the championship Assassin's Creed: Awakening.[4] Volume two was released in France on 23 October 2014.[5]

An English linguistic communication version was announced on 23 July 2016 at San Diego Comic-Con and was published by Titan Comics.[half dozen] The start chapter was released on ix November 2016, while the first volume was released on 19 July 2017.[7] Volume 2 was released in English on 20 September 2017.[viii]

The title stars Edward Kenway in the 18th century and Yanao Seijin in the present as Seijin relives Edward's memories under the middle of Abstergo Industries.

Continuity

Several of the events in Assassin's Creed: Awakening differ greatly from the one in Assassin'due south Creed Iv: Blackness Flag, despite it being an accommodation of the game; Duncan Walpole's face was clean-shaven and he died due to exhaustion and the blast from the transport, unlike in the game, where he was shown with a beard and died past Edward'south blade. Adéwalé does announced in the comic, simply does not wait like to his appearance in the game. Throughout the comic, Edward Kenway receives flashes of Eagle Vision that allows him to see through things and anticipate movements.

A differing of events include; during Edward'due south incident in Greatcoat Bonavista, he was the captain of his own ship, not a office of the brig Jacobite crew. Julien du Casse fought Edward in guild to show that he belonged to the Assassin Order Mary Read was among the Assassins that attacked Julien du Casse, Woodes Rogers, Laureano de Torres y Ayala and Edward Kenway, where she recognized Kenway and demanded he tell her where Duncan Walpole was.
